Wednesday 8 December 2010 - After I was back home from Phú Quốc island, I went to meet a friend with whom I planned a trip to Đọi Tam drum village. We rented a car with driver and traveled for a day. The village is located 65km south of Hanoi, in Duy Tiên district, Hà Nam province. Among 1,500 craft villages in Vietnam, Đọi Tam is one of the oldest villages. It has existed for over 1,000 years (since 986). On one of the recent TV shows, there was an interview with Mr. Phạm Chí Khang, a talented artist who made the biggest drums in Vietnam. I decided that I would like to meet and talk to this man. Fortunately, I found a good companion and we made a trip to the village.
